The Village Bank in Wayland has once again partnered with Family Promise Metrowest to sponsor the fifth annual Warm Winter Wishes gift drive to help local homeless families. Through this winter tradition, the Bank invites customers, friends, and neighbors to drop off donations between December 2 – January 17 at the bank’s Wayland branch located at 62 Boston Post Road. Donations may include winter hats, scarves, gloves, mittens, or warm socks for adults and children.
Family Promise Metrowest is a Natick-based cooperative, interfaith partnership that provides homeless families with safe transitional shelter, meals, and supportive case management to help them attain permanent housing. As part of the program, host congregations, including several in Wayland and local volunteers furnish participating families with temporary shelter and meals. Professional staff members also assist homeless families in reaching established goals designed to end the cycle of homelessness.
“Winter is an especially harsh time for families impacted by homelessness. The Village Bank is proud to continue our tradition of providing donations to help keep them warm and helping Family Promise Metrowest provide programs and solutions to end homelessness,” said Joseph De Vito, president and CEO of The Village Bank. “We encourage our customers and members of the Wayland community to join us in providing donations to help ease the burden for local families.”
